hi, first time posting on this forum, really nice people around it seems. gurusimran's stories are too good, so is nilanjana's prose... this little 'poem' is about how i felt after i did not get something i was hoping (but not at all certain that) i would... hope you guys like it...
They lived for some time in ramshackle dreams, and trundled about in bumbling desires, flitted in and out of rotting memories, went to sleep in the dusty bed of sloth, woke with the rising tide of luck drained themselves on the edge of despair, and in the end, tired of it all, hopes died and went to heaven...
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

You writing this piece just proves that Hope Never Dies. It is as onmipresent as the air we breathe. Anyways, my "prose" just conveys "me", egotistical as it may sound but it's the Truth.
ooohh, but i spelt hopes in plural and with a non-capital H... heaven forbid, if Hope dies then there is nothing to live for... but little things keep coming ur way, and u keep wishing for them, then in the end when it is time to move on, hopes for these things sort of die don't they? aaahhh, i'm committing the cardinal sin of the amateaur: explaining my work... where's the mystery!!! anyway, i liked your writing, since it was meaty and heavy i called it prose, i'm no critic... i read some other stuff here yesterday, like the 'stargazer'. neat stuff!! Good Stuff...! by Gursimran Arora on May 30, 2002 (Thursday) Hi 'Swann'! I think you've done a very good job on your short, yet impressive and thought-provoking piece. Although, I dont think hopes can ever die. As long as a person lives, he dreams and hopes, else his life is not worth living. Hopes manage to make life what it is - colorful and bright. As long as you have dreams in your eyes and hope in your heart, everything around you seems purposeful.. Just a thought! Thanks a lot for your appreciation of my works. I am really flattered. I do hope to see a lot of good work from you posted here...! Keep Writing Love, Gursimran
