I Know I Can (Je Sache Que Je Pourrai)
There is still some hope...
Life is staring at me, Tormenting at every instance; However hard I try, There is nothing but chagrin.
I wish I were a stoic, Caring a damn about a thing; But He tests only those, Who have the will and the poise.
The situation is quite leery, The odds against me; but still, Fightin” with a leonine mien, There is no one so keen.
I hope my sanguineness lasts, In spite of the surrounding darkness. I try to look ahead, With an everlasting passion.
I know I can win, Letting nothing to the bin. Waitin” for a big chance, A chance that makes me dance.
Though it seems a long way off, Some day I see myself--- Walking down the victorious path, With full of joie de vivre.
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

Simple, but somehow, endearingly so. I usually hate simplistic poetry. I didn't like the fifth stanza. Overall, likeable.
