A song review, if you like.
I always knew I liked that track. I mean liked in the sense of 'it hittingsomewhere deep in your subconscious', in a way that leaves you with a feeling of dj vu. It's almost frustrating, you know, that you SHOULD be relating to it, but are not quite ready for it.
That, unfortunately, has changed. Now, when I listen to it, I am escaping the drift. I am just pretending that I like the tune, or the voice or something equally escapist. I have to go through that feeling, because now I am "ready" for it. Sadly, however, I cannot say with any degree of certainty that I enjoy it.
Earlier, when I was listening to the song, I did not need guts of steel to listen to, and for that matter, even understand the lyrics. I know what you are thinking, this guy has too many commas in his sentences!! I can't seem to help it, that's how I think. Anyway, let's come back to the point. What I was trying to say (its funny how we haven't yet evolved to just say what we want, we just keep trying) was that now I cannot enjoy my favorite song.
Its scary to think that there's someone else who felt this way, and felt strongly enough to write it. I do hope that artistes don't have to go through all this to be able to sing about it. I hope so sincerely, because the other alternative hardly provides any comfort.
As I am jotting my admittedly silly thoughts, there is music streaming from the laptop speakers. Scared, that's what I am. Its okay till this happy number plays, I don't even think it means anything, and that is not such a bad thing. Definitely better than what Roger Waters is going to spew out in a while. I guess you can challenge my fear, I can always skip that track, but that is like admitting your vulnerability, a degree of fear that I have not matured to handle. Wish you were here, Come crash into me , I can't live with or without you. It's such a vicious circle.
All the songs make sense, but nothing makes sense.
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

Well, after reading this i desperately wanted to listen to the song. heard it a couple of times, heard the whole album, picked up Achtung, and i've been listening to nothing but U2 for the past 3 days. Of course, ajju, i still cant relate to much of what you write, but yeah, U2 sounds cool :-)
Yeah Zu, even I am feeling the same thing when I am hearing U2 live earlier this month, *what a kick ya...*, *they were so amazing ya...*, really must listen to them live , ya.
