Simon and Garfunkel ... my muse! Hello Darkness! my old friend! I have come to talk to you again

A flickering neon light Playing cat and mouse with Time A silhouette By the window Dark by Light Light by Dark Caught in chaotic order Diabolically distended Embracing emptiness Solid shadow Dancing on a damp wall Rewind Replay Looping Life Silence smothers Smog envelopes Silhouette stagnates Listless limp light Darkens..

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

Darkness reveals what light conceals. Hope that answers your questioning train of thought. Thanks for the appreciation!

It never fails to amaze me - the power of darkness. Most people regard it as something sinister, negative ... the unknown. It's not dark thoughts, it's the enigmatic wonder of darkness that enthralls me.

hey..it seems not far long when you used to be scared of darkness.remember my poems on this very site..sympathy for the devil.anyways truth hits everyone sometime or other..i embrace you with my arms wide open in my kingdom of darkness

Darkness is magic but not your negative thoughts and the sheer grimness associated with it. Have you ever experienced a thunderstorn. The skies are black and the streaks of lightning merely reveals what the darkness conceals - pure silver blinding energy!

i wonder how u got the sign convention working..coz talkin absolutely, sign doesnt really matter..its the absolute value of power..u seee power is a scalar

Let's hear more about this - sounds interesting! AND I'm NOT referring to any "Sign Convention" here! Anyways, let's hear more about your "scalar" theories.

well .well its said that right always wins..truth always prevails...but i believe that whosoever wins is proclaimed right, and whatever he says is the truth..so righteousness is a function of power, which itself is devioid of any direction really, the direction in which the work is done,we assume the power is workin in that direction only...thats my theory..cheers

It's true that Truth always prevail but Truth may not always be "right" because righteousness is subjective. Anything which is subjective lacks all power as it engulfs the id and nothing beyond. I like your theory and it remains a theory but an interesting one nonetheless.

AGAIN U RSAYIN THAT TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS BUT IT MAY NOT BE RIGHT..CUMMON WHATS TRUTH THEN...WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE WHATS THE TRUTH...ITS ONLY THE MAGNITUDES OF POWERS SUPPORTING THE DIFFERENT CAUSES THAT WORKS TOWARDS CREATING THE TRUTH OUT OF CHAOS...AND THEN WE ACCEPT IT AS EASILY AS WE WOULD ANY OTHER PATTERN EMERGING FROM THE CHAOS.. THINK ABT IT..UR NOT FAR FROM "TRUTH"

Hmmmm ... interesting opinion. Truth is a facade interpreted differently by chaotic minds. Therefore, as you rightly said, it's not to be judged and who are we mere mortals to judge its relativity.

"The darkness with a touch of light" - it stimulates vivid images and indeed very thougt-provoking. It's not power but sheer beauty! Thanks for sharing it! Shades Anonymous by bullet on May 27, 2002 (Monday) What shades we see in black and white? What blades scar perspective in daring light? Where do we run, where do we hide? When do we stop running from the night?

N
Nilanjana Biswasarchive~2001-2003

Why do we have to run from the night? Can't we just stand there face the night and see it with the beacons of our sight?

I guess you are right! I normally don't go down without a fight! (lol, i just wanted to rhyme along)

N
Nilanjana Biswasarchive~2001-2003

So, are you going down with a fight? There's nothing to fight about!

B
bulletarchive~2001-2003

(The fight part was just rhyming, all the others were taken... maybe i didn't think hard enough to get a good rhyming word). lol.) Darkness is sometimes what we use to kill our shadows, or hide from them atleast.

Our shardows are darker than darkness itself. The shadows hide our darkness but darkness has a way of finding a way out of our beings. We hide to deceive or do we deceive to hide?
