Well i'm sure most of you will be familiar with quantum theory..hold it!! dont turn away at the sound of physics..this is not a scientific article..this is not stuff to purge your scientific hunger.you might end up laughing at me by the end of it...
This is an honest exploration of a theory and its philosophical relevance.I hope you dont take my work too seriously..its just a meandering of thoughts given the manifestation of words...
so here I go..well so my question..have you read the quantum theory..NOPE doesnt matter..but I hope most of the guys who come across this work must be familiar withit..and I'm sure you weren't shocked by it..well I wasn't coz I never really thought about it..but one day I happened to read Michael Crichton..and I was amazed.really the world of knowledge thats portrayed around us is not as impervious as it seems.. well let me put forward two quotes that I'm sure will drive home my point..
"Anyone who is not shocked by Quantum Theory does not understand it" - Neils Bohr(1927)
"Nobody understands Quantum Theory" - Richard Feynman
Well ..where does that lead us..do you know that an experiment was done when a single photon caused interference..if it sounds too technical..just let me say that an experiment was done which suggested that either the same photon is in 2 places at the same instant of time..or it suggests something that we cannot quite acknowledge at the moment..and I won't lead you on by offering any sparkling hypothesis..well I just wonder where has the innocence gone..why are we reluctant to acknowledge the wonders that may exist around us..why when we were taught interference, this experiment was never mentioned..why are we not taught that matter is not continuous at subatomic dimensions..why are we not taught about quantum foam..why are we never told about things that are there and mystify us..is there any shame in being mystified..I really don't comprehend..not that I have ever compehended the human species and its functioning, especially in heterogeneous groups which still function with amazing uniformity in some fields...
Well enough of the quantum stuff..now lets talk about the power of thought..well one day I was thinking about the power religion has..the power faith has..what really is the source of it all..it really amazed me to see religions that have stood stern tests and have come out unscathed ..even emerging stronger than before..
Well then another day i was thinking of interference of light ..and it struck me..what the heck...is this the secret..I mean what is religion..its a set of ideals, set of values that proclaim a way of life..and what really spurs it on is the belief factor..how do you get the people to follow what you say..you give them stories..you give them heroes to worship..o god are the earthlings desperate for hero-worship..nothing wrong with that..perfect ..and so what we get is millions of people thinking about at least some damn thing in a particular way..think of millions of thought-waves (rather though-particles if we go by quantum physics) very similar in nature..what do they do when they flow together...haha...elementary higher school physics..they bloody interfere.. and what we get is a pattern..shades of darkness and fringes of light..goodness me .it is getting scary..too true and relevant to be believed..I dare not dream further..or you all will just brand me a maniac...I hope I'm joking..
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

I lost you in the end - somehow the article which was almost about to hit the level of profound - didn't quite make it there. So the analogy of shades of darkness and fringes of light is awesome! really! But what you didn't connect was how that is a testament to the power of religion. Or maybe I am looking for too many answers in a non deterministic quantum foam!
well dear friend..i knew this would be coming..i ve made some pretty emphatic statements if you could call them without really delving into their interpretation..i had two reasons for doing that..one that i didnt want to stretch my article till it became longer than people could tolerate it.and at least give it a honest go.. the other reason was there were so many things i wanted to write about this interpretation which i have tried to make..but in the end i thought lets just put it like this and it would be fun when comments like your one come up and then i can go about explaining them in detail..at least i know people really want to know more about this crazy article.. so my friend i will tell you what i meant when i mentioned interference angle in religion..well as i have mentioned the feelings and emotions and values and whatever morals that these religions advocate make up the crux of it..and when this sentiment is thought aloud by millions you can feel the enormous power this stuff can really conjure up..so the pattern arises and now easily you can realise the bright fringes in the constructive power of religion..all the motivational value, emotional support and moral guidance it provides that enables several of us to tread the right path...and then dear there is the dark side of this force..the dark shades which can be seen in the violence, bloodshed and other gory stuff which is sometimes the result of this very intense manifestation of belief.. that of course is a humble opinion..hope you connect to it..cheers
the article is good enough to generate someinterest and awareness abt the quantum theories and the writer has been amazingly been very succesfull in drawing the belief in relegion parallel with the scientific theories but the fact which really is itching me is that science needs proof and some concrete things to place it ideas but relegion is just an impression of mind and soul.
think closely my dear friend..may be they are 2 sides of the same coin.:) or maybe they are the same stuff in different packages..
Congrats for excellent presentation of a new idea about thought particles. Let us study the Quantum paradox. The example of single electron interfering with ? to form fringes.Interacting with what? Is it present at two places symeltaneously? Is it possible for a particle to be present at two places at one point of time? Or some unknown unfanthomable particle present to interfere with the single electron? Is it the thought particle ? the thought particle allprevading param brahma of vedas? Is the particle world we know of this universe is just the menifistication pf thought particle? As we say in vedas that the world is maya an illusion created by Brahma the basic thought particle or the chetan as it is called? Is the material world and the thought world are just the menifistication of the same basic cosmos Energy?THE PARAM BRAHMA of the VEDAS NETI NETI is what we say in upnishads WEcant know WE cant know. Let me hope this concept of thought particle be breaking the barrier felt by Rishis of Vedas and weare finally understand the basic nature of existence Let me once again congratulate the author for a very thought proviking concept of thought particle.
well i am with the upanishads on this one..we can't know.. i believe life is a mystery never meant to be solved..and whoever tries too hard to delve in this secret they always burn out..get disillusioned with the very act of existence and if thats the case well i i think i can wait a few more years of my wretched existence to find out what life really is..:)) coz i still am hopeful about this ignorant life..haa haa
whtever the TRUTH is the TIME wasn't on ur side in this SPACE when u were writing this thing. explain me the fundaa of fringes that follow the cliches of boring school schedule that boy has to go thru.
i guess i ve already answered this question above in my reply to kreep's comment..hope u connect now..cheers
"Nobody Understands (your version of the) Quantum Theory"
o my god..i must have really written something quite amazing that mr.feynman himself has come from his grave to tell me that nobody understands me..(richard feynman died in 1988) ..i m honored really..
good article....deeply thought of article... i particularly liked the way the writer has directed his point via the most sensitive area of indians....RELIGION. TRUTH MOCKS by Amish on Friday June 29, @03:52PM religion,quantum,space-time in truth they all sublime u tried to make a point Aragorn and truth is raped, truth is torn everything , just an idea, truth overtakes them all so in the shallow waters i don't fall to rebuke one you put forward another theory just to add on to your own glory if thats what u wanted u ve won but we all will repent let THE TRUTH come..
A very interesting and intriguing idea indeed! I'm not too much up to speed on the Quantum theory, but I've read somewhere that all particles are basically manifestations of various strings that vibrate at different frequencies and that's what gives all these muons, electrons, neutrinos etc. their specific properties.. This also makes one think! there is no restriction on the size of these things, bigger or smaller, so who knows, it could be possible that if you could look at an electron with high enough resolution, it might look like it was built of countless particles (themselves based on other types of strings and their frequencies..) Could it be that this universe is fractal in nature? the closer we look, the more detail we see? maybe there are universes within small fundamental particles, and there are people just like us living in those worlds numbering in the billions that exist within just one electron? And on the other side, maybe this universe itself is just part of a particle in a drop of water dripping from a tap in another world? The universe was born in that particle long after it left the tap, and billions of galaxies have been born and died, and yet, the drop hasn't hit the sink yet? :) and the creator knows about it all! bring out the straight jacket and the shock treatment!!! :) cheers, Amr
Malik glad u responded aragnon 's article using string theory to raise certain queries about creation of universe and the relationship betwwe fundamentel particles and the universe. YES there is basic uniformity there. Whatever is true for basic particle (thought particle) is true for the universe. We asay in Upnishadas the same thing as follows YET PINDE TAT BRHMANDE WHAT IS PARTICLE SAME IS UNIVERSE iN THE STRING THEORY WE CAN ASSUME THE STRING CONSISTING OF A SERIES OF THOUGHT PARTICLES WHICH VIBRATING WITH DIFFERENT FREQUENCIES GIVE RISE TO DIFFERENT BASIC PARTICLES LIKE POSITRONS NEUTRION etc which then constitute the universe
thank u mr.malik for ur comment..u ve raised a very good point about the fractal nature of universe.. the only thing that interests me really is the role of the creator in all this..and what power He now holds..the thought itself is unimaginable..or is it just chaos at work...we ll never know ..
