Up! up! my Friend, and quit your books; Or surely you'll grow double; Up! Up! my Friend, and clear your looks; Why all this toil and trouble?

Books!'tis a dull and endless strife; Come, hear the woodland linner, How sweet his music! on his life, There's more of wisdom in it.

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.

I wonder..i dont know thats why i wonder..is this poem from wordsworth or is it the rare words of rohit, the one who posted the poem? and i have this question. why is the poem telling this person to quit books? what books exactly are meant. i mean, today people encourage reading and writing, the poem seems to deflate it. but maybe i read it out of context. but if a context were given.. zainab
