a little about my life, as of now
One down, two to go.
There hasn’t been a time this year,
when I haven’t wished to be away from here.
Away from here, forever.
When I was in paradise,
in the train, in my city, in the plane,
I learnt to appreciate that it was so.
Nothing, no longer taken for granted.
Decisions have to be my own.
for others seemingly wanting my good,
somehow do not bring me so.
Two more years I have to stay,
these I shall use to learn.
For when I’ll have a chance to fly
I will to all I yearn.
A place not so far from here,
but with things so different from now.
A place, any place, where I’m away,
away from this sheltered hell.
Oh! We each maintain our own diaries
but I will dictate over all your affairs.
You hardly realise, dear one,
you yourself give me choice of any color,
so long as it’s fair
Far away I want and shall go,
to a place where “we shall discuss”
isn’t the same as “I speak you listen”.
A place where I won’t go dizzy with
new found pleasures of normal life and rights.
A life I could call my own.
What stayed with you?
A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
