i am new to this site, this is my poem which was first published in themestream.com Away, in the lush meadows Near a sparkling stream Among the darkening shadows The songbird sang its dream. It sang of hope and sunshine It sang of love and a mate Filled with a dream so fine Where, it seemed to make its fate. Its music rose so high The tune in all its splendour That it seemed to pierce the sky Sweeping all in wonder. Flying high near the rim The great eagle, the tune did find Music too, it seemed to him but of a different kind. Down he swooped with all his might His flight in grace and power All his gaze fixed on the sight The shadow of death from afar. Lost in dreams the songbird sang Unaware of the sweeping roar The eagle came with open fang And the songbird sang no more. Away, in the lush meadows Near a Sparkling stream Among the darkening shadows The songbird is, but a dream.

What stayed with you?

A line that lingered, a feeling, a disagreement. Great comments are as valuable as the original piece.
